What is New World Lager?
Lager is the worldโs most popular beer style, but did you know there are many different types of lagers? From Helles, Pilsners and even IPLs…whoever said Lager was boring?!
New World Lager is an India Pale Lager (IPL). An IPL is a beer that combines the hop-forward characteristics of an India Pale Ale (IPA) with the crisp and clean profile of a lager. It typically has a pale colour, a balanced malt base, and a prominent hop presence that can range from floral and citrusy to piney and resinous. IPLs are known for their refreshing and drinkable nature, with a clean finish and a noticeable hop bitterness. This style of beer originated in the United States and has gained popularity in recent years for its unique combination of IPA and lager flavours.
What does New World Lager taste like?
Brewed with pale malts, three different hop varieties from New Zealand, and traditional lager yeast, this non-alcoholic beer is balanced and bright. Expect a traditional lager with more, delicate notes of citrus and soft fruits from the hops to create a sessionability that keeps you coming back for more.
Final Thoughts
When we decided to add a 0.5% ABV lager to our range, we knew it had to be something different, a lager for craft lovers. Inspired by our travels down under, this lager showcases New Zealand Hops. Packing a punch, sweet notes of biscuit, toasted malts and honey complement delicate hop notes of candied citrus fruits.
